“A continuous and often steep climb along Tanque Verde Ridge to the summit of Tanque Verde Peak”
— Mike Barcom
Birding · Views · Wildflowers · Wildlife
The route climbs up Tanque Verde Ridge to Tanque Verde Peak in Saguaro National Park.
This is a steep run with very few opportunities to find shade along the way.
The trail starts from the southern end of the parking lot. The first half mile is gentle terrain before beginning the long climb up the ridge. The only possible spot to get water along the way is at Juniper Basin, about 6 miles in. Check with Park Rangers at the visitor center for updates on water conditions.
