Runner Notes

Listen for downhill mountain bikers when climbing

Description

A great jaunt through the dense forest of Cypress. Starts with a wide old logging road and after 1km becomes nice singletrack. At 2kms in, it will start the climb (1,100ft). Steep climbs with a few flatish sections to give you a break. When you climb, this is a trail frequented by mountain bikers, so keep an ear out and step aside.

Once you hit the West Side Road, you have hit the top. It's a gravel road that you'll run along for apx 1km until you hit the top of Brewis Trail. The top of Brewis is a nice soft singletrack. Be careful a km in as the trail has been rerouted to the North into a little steep gully. Once out of the gully keep descending on soft singletrack until the Hollyburn Fir a 1,100yr old Fir Tree. Break to the left and go on the Crossover Trail. You'll come to the Baden Powell, cross over it and continue to the Brothers Creek Trail.

You'll have a fun technical descent down the Brothers Creek Trail. At the first sign post near the helicopter pad turn left and your on the Baden Powell. Cross over Brothers Creek and see the great waterfall and chute below. Continue along the BP and enjoy the great singletrack. Eventually the trail will become rocky and break right on an old logging road towards Millstream Rd. Run along the road for about 1km to get back to your original starting point.
