No water availability and the trailhead gets crowded on busy days. The trail itself gets busy on nice weekend days, lots of mountain bikers and walkers. This is a good connector for a lot of other trails at South Mountain. when it is busy, connecting to a trail that climbs the mountain will thin out the crowds and get you away from the bikers.
This is an easy trail to follow, well signed and connects to the Desert Classic "thoroughfare". At the top of this loop, there are nice views looking south. You can take the Corona De Loma
trail from here to the top of the mountain for views of Phoenix and the suburbs, and the mountains beyond. The terrain and flora provide a classic Sonoran Desert experience within the confines of the city.
