Short accessible run through the Dells with beautiful views of the Valley

Adopt These Trails!

Overview

Cool rock formations, several areas going through the Dells and some going on top of the Dells. Cool views as well, this trail has it all in a short distance!
Features: Birding — Views
Dogs: Leashed

Need to Know

Not much shade on the outside loop. A little tree canopy for half a mile through the middle trail. Porter Potty at trailhead once you go under the underpass.

Runner Notes

Some more technical areas where you will have to slow down. Terrain is rocky with a few sections on top of boulders. A few fairly steep climbs on the West side of the trail that get you to beautiful views of the Valley.

Description

Free parking along Highway 89 by the Phippen Museum. There is an underpass under the Highway to get to the trailhead. There's even a Porter Potty.
Some mountain biking activity from time to time to be aware. You can go a lot of different ways on this trail, I have managed to create my own loop by starting with the outside loop which is about 2 miles then going back through the middle and hitting all the other trails. Everything is very well marked at each intersection.
The trail is dedicated to a Lockheed Martin C-121G Constellation aircraft that crashed at the site during a training mission on February 28th, 1959.

Flora & Fauna

Lots of beautiful wildflowers along the way and lots of cool rock formations.

History & Background
