This is a run to the top of Johns Mountain where you have a great view of East Armuchee Valley.

Adopt These Trails!

Overview

This is a run to the top of Johns Mountain. It's about a 9 mile trip with a lot of climbing on FS road to a great overlook! The run is a combination of gravel forest service roads, paved road, and doubletrack.

From the Pilcher's Pond parking lot, you'll run on a gravel Forest Service road for a mile to the pond. As you run past the pond, the trail is a relatively smooth doubletrack with some loose rocks.

Description

Start from Pilchers Pond and run some of the Pinhoti trail East of Pocket Road. From Pocket Road, you'll run the Forest Service road to top of Johns Mountain. At the top is an observation deck to view Taylor Ridge and East Armuchee Valley.

There are two foot travel-only trailheads at the top. Both trails take you to Keown Falls. Usually, the falls is just a trickle, but it's still a neat place to take a short run.
