Runner Notes

There are several very steep pitches. Ample shade on this trail is beneficial on hot, sunny days.

Description

The Old Pine Trail is a shady, narrow path, often used in combination with Bear Valley, Mt Wittenberg, and Sky trails to make loops of various lengths. From the junction with Bear Valley trail, near the toilets at the Divide Meadow, head across mostly level ground initially. Then take wide switchbacks up a hillside with several steep pitches. Attain the hilltop and then traverse gentle rolls before ambling down a mellow ridge line to the unction with Sky Trail. Note: bikes are not allowed on the Old Pine Trail.

Flora & Fauna

Douglas fir, tanoak, deer.

Dry, Fallen Trees - Extremely narrow and weeds will hit you on the legs nearly the whole trail, wear some high socks, also there is no where to sit and some places are a little steep
