What are some of your favorite trails to get after for someone new to trail running? Hoping for things both close to Denver and then also for some fun stuff up in the mountains... either out 285, up in Summit, Grand, or Lake Counties.

There are a wide variety of trails that either circle or interconnect at Roxborough State Park, which is where I live. You can do an easy 2 or 3 miler to start, and then connect them together for 18+ mile trails.

Hey Mark - Roxborough is a great suggestion. For something in the opposite direction, check out Flatirons Vista or Marshall Mesa near Boulder. By 'new to trail running' I assume you are looking for moderate climbs?

Bear Creek Lake Park near Golden could also be a good option.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
