Description

Starting on Prairie Trail, you'll walk for about .4 miles before coming to any intersections. Take the first trail that branches off to the left - this is the beginning of Freshwater Pond Trail. This trail meanders through marshland for less than a quarter mile to get you to the ponds of Freshwater Pond Loop.

There is a connector that jumps over to the Loop shortly before Freshwater Pond Trail ends, or you can continue the short distance until the Trail reaches its terminus at another intersection with the Loop. To return to the parking area, simply retrace your steps or using a combination of Freshwater Pond Loop and Prairie trail to make your way back.

Flora & Fauna

Coastal birds, alligators.
