The trail starts at a small parking lot on Vera Linda Lane. For more parking and an easier run, use the Vou'gul Trail from the larger Ma-le'l Dunes south parking lot. The trail passes a swamp area, then crosses a low spot that is often flooded.

It climbs steeply up stairs up into the Sitka spruce and shore pines. It winds under the trees before coming to a long hill of sand. At a signed junction near the beach, trails travel directly to the beach or up another sandy gully.

This one turns to continue northward along the edge of the gun club fence. There are "trail" signs to mark the way until it eventually arrives at the beach.
