Dogs Leashed
Description
This is a great find in a small town, I was very happy to come across it when we were looking for new trails and paths last weekend. This path is all paved from the high school clear into the middle of town.
The path offers a hiking and biking opportunity from a quiet city neighborhood, by McLaughlin Park, to the elementary and middle schools and out of town to the north to the high school. This is a great investment in the community. McLaughlin Park has a playground, splash park, basketball courts, a very large shelter with bathrooms, disc golf and a small fishing pond.
The City Loop Path from the 2013 Valley Center Master Plan utilizes the south half of the Hike and Bike Path up to the street crossing at the middle school and Meridian St. From there, you utilize sidewalks and streets on the west side of the city to connect to N West Avenue on the west side of the train tracks.
Then travel south to Main Street and back east to the south end of the Hike and Bike Path. The city looks to be improving sidewalk and path opportunities all over the city!
Flora & Fauna
In town, you'll probably see songbirds and small mammals, outside town you'll find deer, opossums and armadillos.
