Inside Snow Canyon State Park boundary but outside the fee area.

Description

This run starts as an easy winding trail past broken up coal black lava flows and around the base of the cinder cone that last erupted around 27,000 years ago. The trail then turns abruptly up the steep south slope of the cinder cone and through a snarled braid of trails straight to the rim. The trail then follows the rim of the cinder cone with views of the volcanic crater in the center of the cinder cone, Snow Canyon laid out below, and the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area to the east. There is no shade anywhere along this trail.
