Runner Notes
I could trail run long sections of this, but most of the trails head straight up the hills (rather than switchbacks). That means they are in various stages of washing out. There are miles of opportunity to turn your ankles.
Description
There is an upper and lower parking lot separated by a gate. The start is steep and long. I took the left branch which leads, in about three miles, to a short side branch where you can enjoy a rest on the top of Bald Knob. You can see forever from there. Continuing around the loop, the right side goes through a long flat which can be muddy and probably floods. Finish the loop and head for your car.
Flora & Fauna
Lots of rocks with lichen. On a nice day in February, I saw 1 butterfly and several squirrels.
