Need to Know

Plenty of parking. I have never seen more than two or three other cars here.

Runner Notes

In the beginning, watch out for the Cypress knees coming out of the ground. Good ankle breakers for those who aren't looking.

Description

The Red Trail is a connector trail that allows for a shorter loop, if the bigger 15 mile loop isn't what you are looking for.

Though it is nothing special, this area is the best area I found in South Florida to run (I didn't explore the Gulf coast side).

There is also the Green Trail, a bit north of this one that also connects the east to these same two trails. It allows for a approximately 9 mile loop.

Flora & Fauna

Standard south Florida/Everglades vegetation—snakes, gators...

There is a nice grove of Live Oaks at one point.
