This trail is quite the scramble up to the Farmington canyon road switch-back, then it traverses West while still being quite the scramble with a tad bit of exposure here and there. The trail then becomes much more manageable as it links up with the Francis Peak trail.

On the start of the scramble up to the switch-back, it is not uncommon to encounter items that people have dumped from the canyon road above, or broken skeets (clay targets) left over from shooters.
