Guale Mesa Road is a rocky jeep out-and-back road. Several shorter climbs and descents with plenty of loose rocks keep the run interesting. In general, it is a bit more hilly than the Rancherias Trail loop that is used to access it.

The run to the end will reward you with probably the best views anywhere in Big Bend Ranch State Park. The trail ends on a high mesa overlooking the picturesque Tapado Canyon.
