Description

The Gardiner Peak Trail is mainly used to connect Mahalo to the Boise Ridge Road. This section is a very moderate climb, the trail is easy and only has a couple of roots. From the Ridge Road to the junction with Mahalo you'll see the most traffic; once you pass the intersection with Mahalo the trail gets more rugged.

There is a steep section up near the peak, after which you have a fun downhill. It is recommended to turn left onto Clear Creek Summit Trail as opposed to descending into Dagget Creek. There is no sign at the junction so please consult the map.

Beyond the Clear Creek Summit Trail junction, the trail drops steeply into Dagget Creek. The descent is a little challenging, and once you get into the creek, you'll have a lot of creek running. There has been talk of re-routing the Dagget Creek section of this trail, but it has not happened yet.
