Run this either direction, but mapped this direction the trail starts at the junction with Willow Creek Trail. From the start the trail climbs over the pass; once there, the trail immediately descends some switchbacks to the Ross Lakes. There are some good fishing in these two lakes. Go by the lakes and descend some more switchbacks as you leave the alpine behind. There are lots of loose rocks on the trail so watch your footing. Once you have left the switchbacks, the trail mellows out and you'll have a nice stroll along the creek.

This trail can also be runed as an out and back from the bottom, where you can access the trail from Boise River Road.
