Description

This trail connects Fallen Leaf Lake with the Floating Island / Mount Tallac Trail (17E33). You initially run alongside the water going up and down on a fairly rocky path across the bluffs. After a quarter mile, the trail starts ascending rapidly as it leads away from the lake. Half a mile later, you'll encounter the most strenuous stretch of the trail, which very steeply zigzags up the slope providing you with marvelous views of Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe. Toward the end of the trail, you enter forest again before you reach the Floating Island / Mount Tallac Trail (17E33).

This trail is very demanding going up, and as such, is not for the fainthearted.
