This 3.5-mile loop can be accessed from any of three connectors. The Steep Creek Connector (WC2) and Northwest Connector (WC3) from the Tall Oaks Trail, or WC4 from the Thompson River Trail - North Loop. The multi-use trail can be done in either direction and is a mixture of smooth tread, lots of roots, a bit of rock, and some short ups and downs.
Although it's well marked, the corridor is often overgrown and can be difficult to see as it doesn't see a lot of traffic or maintenance. This gives it a great remote backwoods feel as long as you don't mind a little bushwhacking. Some sections can be very rough from horse hoof prints in the soft dirt.
Watch for downed trees and bring some bug spray as ticks are present.
