Runner Notes

The easy climbs are great for runners looking for a narrow tread. And if you're starting at the north, the slope will allow you to race down.

Description

Look for the start of Lower Surfer's Way at the three-way intersection with Upper Surfer's Way and Down South. The start of the trail is a little obscured by a tall tree, but the sign reading "Surfer's Way - Shark Bait Rides Here" will lead you in the right direction.

Unlike its upper brother, Lower Surfer's Way has minimal rocks or roots, and the narrow ribbon of singletrack has a pleasant feel as it winds from a dark, shaded forest to circle north along the edge of a clearing. The surrounding hillside has a more protected and secluded feeling from other areas in the park.

The trail picks up High Road just before it ends on La-Z-Boy.
