Runner Notes

Expect smoother footing interrupted frequently by rocks, roots, and looser soil. Dogs are allowed in the National Forest and in Ansel Adams Wilderness...but leave Fido at home if you are planning to cross the border into Yosemite National Park after the lake.

Description

Follow Chiquito Creek upstream beneath the eastern flanks of Quartz Mountain to Chiquito Lake, jumping off point to deeper adventures in the remote reaches of southeastern Yosemite National Park. The ascent is moderate, but expect a steeper section about a mile in, although the grade quickly eases up again. This trail gets alot of sun, so plan water and timing accordingly.

The trail starts in Sierra National Forest, and ends in Ansel Adams Wilderness Area just above Chiquito Lake. From there, there you can hook up with Chiquito Pass into YNP.
