Runner Notes

Featuring steep climbs and descents, this a great place to push yourself.

Description

This trail is a bit more technical than most of the trails in the area, and the added steepness will be welcome for visitors looking to exert themselves. Though the trail is comprised of a steep descent and ascent, the trail is mostly free of obstacles. Instead, visitors will enjoy smooth gravel tread. Visitors will climb to North Mountain, where some views are available. Especially in the western portion of the loop, there will be some interesting and unique sandstone boulders along the way.

This trail intersects with various other trails in the area, and visitors can access Lower Dogwood from the Arlington Trail, the Upper Dogwood Trail, or the Floral Trail. In turn, any of these trails can be used to create a longer route, if more exploration is desired.
