Description

From the trailhead, there are two options. Either take the gondola up, or run from the Adventure Center as an out-and-back. Park near the Adventure Center at Main Lodge HWY 203. Purchase a Gondola Pass in the Adventure Center, or look for the trail marker for Mammoth Mountain Trail, near the Discovery Chair.

You'll start your run through the tree line, crossing a few other paths along the way. Watch for mountain bikes before crossing the trail. The trail starts at 8950 feet, so make sure to drink water. The trail will take you above treeline, so use caution on days where lighting strikes because you'll be exposed.

This trail offers great views and is also popular with dogs.
