Runner Notes

This trail is not used very often and can have a lot of debris on the trail surface; fallen leaves that obscure rocks and ruts, fallen branches and loose rocks/soil that might turn an ankle. Also, watch for mountain bikes.

Description

Sometimes called Buddhist Singletrack due to the Hsi Lai Temple next to it, this trail has no official name but is part of the historic San Juan Bautista Trail. After crossing Hacienda Blvd go right (uphill) and the trail starts through an open chain link fence gate. Immediately, the trees converge overhead and the trail becomes shaded and green.

At the top of the hill, the trail narrows up against a chain link property fence on the left, and ends at Skyline, the only traffic light along this stretch of Hacienda. Turn left and look for the dirt road, Skyline Trail - to Schabarum.
