The pass is snowbound until July and fallen trees are usually cut out by mid-July.

Description

The West Fork of Big Smoky goes from Smiley Creek Road to Big Smoky Trail and can be runed in either direction. The section from Smiley Creek Rd to the pass has seen some recent trail work that makes the trail very nice. The builders left a sea of stumps spaced just wide enough. From the pass to Big Smokey, the trail is classic singletrack with a steep pitch near the top before mellowing out as it settles into the creek bottom. The end of the trail on Big Smoky is very remote.

Use this trail to create many different loop options.
