Description

This trail is a combination of doubletrack/dirt road and some singletrack that connects the Honeybee Canyon Loop with the Dove Mountain trail system, taking you to the intersection of the Wild Burro Trail and Wild Burro Loop Trail.

Starting near the corral in Honeybee Canyon you'll head west and follow a dirt road for a while before taking a right onto a singletrack path and beginning your ascent. This trail spills out onto a wash and from there you'll link to an old jeep road that goes up and over the top of the Tortolita Mountains through a pass. While this road is fairly steep and a bit rocky, you'll at least be rewarded with some nice views once topping out at the pass. From here you'll descend the dirt road and end up at the intersection of the Wild Burro Trail and the Wild Burro Loop Trail. A full traverse from the parking lot for Honeybee Canyon (following the Honeybee Canyon Loop in reverse to the corral, then this trail, and down the Wild Burro Trail) to the Wild Burro trailhead by the Ritz-Carlton will be just under 15 miles.
