Runner Notes

A decent amount of time will be spent climbing, but past the first third of a mile it's pretty mellow.

Description

From the visitor center, follow the Taiga Trail for a short distance to the start of the Rock Creek Trail. Although the climbing is more demanding at the start, make sure to enjoy the great views back over the valley. As the trail proceeds the grades mellow out on the way to Rock Creek at the end, and the kennels beyond. Unlike the Roadside Trail, this path travels deeper into the forest for an even more peaceful run.

Flora & Fauna

There's a good chance of seeing moose or black bears. And lots of blueberries, flowers, and plants add to the appeal along the way.
