Description

The Sweet Grass Trail is a loop that emanates in the Sweet Grass Creek drainage and then heads up the South Fork of the creek. At the headwaters, an alternate summit scramble to the top of Conical Peak provides runners with outstanding views of the Crazy Mountain Range and adjacent mountain ranges afar. The option exists to continue Eastward to the other side of the Crazy Range on the Sweetgrass Trail.

Keep an eye out for afternoon storms and have your surefootedness underneath you while ascending and descending the scree slopes of the rocky and craggy Crazies. The views from the top are well worth the work.
